COURSEWORK
Below is a collection of work I created at the University of Miami, where I learned techniques for designing with the intention to market or advertise a product, service, or brand.
For this project, I was instructed to create and design a brand in any industry. Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks, so I created my own popcorn brand with a generalized consumer-friendly design that would appeal to people of all ages. The bag designs were made on Illustrator, while the mock-ups were made on Photoshop. For this project, playing around with fonts and colors was critical to determining my brand. Because popcorn is a snack people of all ages enjoy I wanted to choose a sans-serif font so it had a fun feel to it. I chose to make the colors vibrant so it would catch consumers eyes on a shelf with other competing snacks.
For this project, I was instructed to create branding for any type of restaurant. I chose steakhouse, and after conducting market research on steakhouse menus, I chose fonts, colors, and designs that would best suit the aesthetic most-often seen at these types of establishments. Usually, steakhouses have dark, moody colors, so I wanted to incorporate that with also giving the background a contrast to really make the items on the menu pop.
This project was assigned to me during COVID-19. I created a hand sanitizer brand that allows the customer to create their own scent, and, using Illustrator and Photoshop, I created packaging, stationary, and social media posts to promote it. I wanted to create something fun for consumers during a time that wasn't. By using bright colors and a playful font, I was able to make my brand new and interesting while also keeping the colors recognizable as a hand sanitizer brand.
For this project, I was assigned to create and design a beverage brand. I chose an espresso martini, and came up with the logo, brand aesthetic, and packaging design." I wanted this to really stand out next to competitors, which is why I chose the bright can color. When consumers look at the outside of the box, I wanted them to be interested on what was on the inside of it.
The above are packaging mock-ups for the environmentally-friendly production company Earth Angel. I created the patterns as well as demonstrated what they would look like on the actual sustainable package material that they wanted to start using. I had to strategically place the logo as well as find colors and patterns that matched their brand style guide.

This was a spread I was assigned to make for my University's yearbook. I was really excited that I got to play around with silhouetting images, as well as trying to make photos of multiple shapes fit together on the page with text.
This project allowed me to not only create my own ad, but photograph the product for it. I manipulated the background on Photoshop to be filled with water, except for the deodorant, which is supposed to block out all moisture.
For this project, I was given creative freedom to create a series of travel posters for a made up location. I chose fruit because of it's vibrant colors and once I picked the type of fruits I wanted, the ideas for the designs sprouted from there. These were all made on Illustrator to have a cohesive feel while each being their own poster.
I was given this project as a way to test my illustration skills on Illustrator. It was open-ended, so I decided to make a poster for Miami's Clean Food Festival. I researched foods that would be included here and found that a lot of them had colors that would catch the eye of people walking by a poster like this.
